Non-invasive Engine Testing
Disassembling an engine to find a fault can be expensive in both time and parts. One of the great advantages of PicoScope is the ability to perform non-invasive tests to narrow down or identify the fault first.
Non-invasive Engine Condition Testing — Video Presentation
This presentation demonstrates how you can assess the mechanical condition of an engine without stripping any of the parts. We show you how to set up for intake manifold, exhaust, and crankcase pressure testing. We describe how the results should look to help you gain confidence in your measurements and also introduce some typical faults, such as compression issues, so that you can learn the basics of pressure waveform evaluation.

Non-invasive Engine Condition Testing — Q&A
This video is a Q&A session, where Ben, Steve and Barney answer various questions raised from the presentation above.

Cylinder Identification and Relative Compression on CRD Engines
This webinar is designed to give a practical overview of PicoScope in action. In this video, Pico's Ben Martins covers the following topics regarding PicoScope and PicoDiagnostics:
PicoScope
- Setup
- Rulers
- Math channels
- Measurement and evaluation of camshaft position sensor voltage
- Starter motor current
- Diesel injector current
- Crankshaft position sensor voltage
PicoDiagnostics
- Relative Compression
Running time: 1 hr 24 min.

Attenuators, Then and Now
When you bought a new PicoScope 4225A or 4425A, you couldn't find an attenuator in your kit. Have you seen the attenuator but don't know why or how to use them? In this video, Phil Rutt tells us why and how we need to use attenuators with the Automotive PicoScopes and why we haven't included an attenuator in the PicoScope 4425A kits.
